Hello, nice to meet you. Just a little bit about myself. I've been a Bodyworker and Licensed Massage Therapist located in the Greater Boston Area since 2006, and graduated from the Massage Institute of New England. My certifications include Deep Tissue Therapy, Clinical Massage Therapy, Swedish Massage and Core Movement Integration (CMI), certified from the Core Movement Integration Institute. I am state licensed and AMTA insured. Through out my practice I've helped people to better manage their pain, postural issues and injuries through treatment, education and a solid referral network.
A common trend with clients I see is that the more active an individual is, the more they recover from injury and dysfunction. The clients that rely solely on “passive” treatments, such as massage, deep tissue, even myofascial release, will feel better after. They may even have times when the problem seems to disappear for long periods of time. However, this is rarely sustainable as most people will come back with the same issue, or different issues due to compensation from the original ailment. It is becoming a more common knowledge that movement and exercise play a larger role in not just injury rehabilitation, but overall physical, mental and brain health! Healthy, efficient pain free movement can be taught. With the appropriate use of “passive” modalities and “active” modalities that involve movement, a client can increase recovery and enhance overall health.
The goal and purpose of Root To Core is to provided efficient bodywork, movement therapy and education to people looking to improve their physical state by improving their relationship with their bodies in movement. This is done through re-patterning of movement habits at a neurological level and hands-on bodywork offered as single sessions, treatment plans. If dealing with a chronic condition, such as low back pain or injury it is recommended to invest in a treatment plan. It will take more than one session to work out old body habits. Workshops are also available if interested in learning in a group setting.
Feel free to contact me for any questions you may have.
